Yobe State To Build First Cargo Airport In The North
Yobe State Commissioner for Works, Transport and Energy, Sirajo Wakil
yesterday in Damaturu disclosed that the State Government will soon
award a contract for the construction of the first ever cargo airport in
Northern Nigeria.
According to Wakil, the airport would be for ticketing as well as for cargo and would be located in Damaturu, the state capital.
He noted that after the completion, the airport would be the first of
its kind in the North, because there is no cargo airport in the whole of
Northern Nigeria.
By the way, of the six states in the North-East, Yobe has been named the
most insecure out of them all, by the latest report released by the
United Nations Development Programme in collaboration with Oxfam
Nigeria.
